As announced, Couch Commerce Inc. (owners of TeamBuy.ca and DealFind.com brands) is now insolvent. An acquisition by NCrowd Commerce Inc. has been approved by the courts, and the transaction was finalized on September 24, 2014.

Please be advised that as of Friday, August 29, 2014, Couch Commerce Inc., the parent company of TeamBuy.ca/Dealfind.com, has entered into a legal & financial restructuring process. Pursuant to the rules and regulations governing the restructuring process, we cannot honor TeamBucks issued on or before August 29, 2014 and issue any refunds related to purchases on or before August 29, 2014.

I was not aware of this and only found out about it recently. I was not privy to any insider information or anything. I’m shocked and disappointed by the news. TeamBuy/DealFind was one of my favourite daily deals sites. I bought a lot of deals from them over the last couple years and never had any issues.
Allegedly, TeamBuy/DealFind is no longer offering refunds and has stopped paying their merchants. This has forced some merchants to stop accepting/honouring TeamBuy & DealFind vouchers. If you have any outstanding TeamBuy/DealFind vouchers that you haven’t used, your best bet is to contact the merchant and ask if they’re still honouring the voucher. If not, I suggest you contact your credit card company and request a charge back.

Because I can’t guarantee if any deals purchased from TeamBuy/DealFind will be honoured, I’m going to immediately stop posting TeamBuy/DealFind deals on my blog.

My web host HostGator.com experienced major networking outages for about 12 hours yesterday (Wednesday, April 16, 2014) and caused all of their 9 million hosted websites to go down. Here’s more details about the issue if you’re interested.
This issue caused all of my blogs/websites to go offline. I pretty much spent the entire day clicking the refresh button every couple minutes hoping my websites would be back online. It was very disappointing, but it looks like HostGator has finally fixed the issue 🙂
During the afternoon of April 16, 2014, the data center in Provo, Utah experienced a networking issue in some server clusters that affected some VPS, Dedicated and Shared server customers of Hostgator, Justhost, Hostmonster, and Bluehost. The outage began at approximately 11:00 AM PST and wasn’t yet resolved at 10:49 PM PST, affecting not only dedicated servers but also email delivery.

The web hosting company that hosts all blogs upgraded to better and faster servers last night. However, they experienced some technical issues causing all of my blogs to temporary go down for most of day yesterday (May 30, 2013). The blogs are back up, but they have not resolved everything yet so things might be a bit wonky for the next day or so.
Trust me when I say I am working diligently on the issue with them so we can get the sites back to normal ASAP.
